Sheldon Singers

Coffee and carols.... that's how it all began. Village friends gathered in one family home, with two children in their bedrooms overhead. Carols round the village and at Sheldon Parish Church Carol Service. Little did we realise that the Sheldon Singers were born!
That was in 1986 and now the Singers number around forty who travel from all around the Honiton area to rehearse in Millwater School Hall in Honiton on Thursday evenings.

A mixed voice choir, the Singers cater for all ages and abilities. Their conductor Julie De'Ath -Lancaster, herself a professional singer, works to a high standard.

They have sung Choral Evensong in Bath Abbey, Worcester Cathedral as well as light hearted concerts in village halls, raising money for charities. They have been on 3 international tours the latest being a tour to Florence and Tuscany in 2005. The Choir will be touring in Spain in the autumn of 2007.

The main highlight of the Singers musical year is their Christmas Concert which is held in St Paul's Church Honiton when together with professional instrumentalists, they sing for the pleasure of their audience and for the sheer joy of making music.
